Updates
What is new in Musubi War. The game is updated often; here is everything that changed recently.
October 19, 2026
Cards get perks, App Store, gentler disasters
- Card levels now unlock perks for your monsters: Sharp Eye (+5% to hit) at Lv 3, Hard Hitter (+1 damage) at Lv 5, Thick Fur (+5% defense) at Lv 7, Eagle Eye (+10% to hit) at Lv 8 and Legend (+2 damage) at Lv 10.
- Lava flows and rogue waves now push monsters to safe ground and deal only 2 damage instead of knocking them out.
- The card collection fits iPads and big screens better, four cards to a row.
- Battle for Musubi was submitted to the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad, free and without ads.

The card collection
- New Cards screen: a glass trading card for every monster, with its stats on the front and its career on the back (battles, wins, hit rate, damage, knockouts and more).
- Using a monster in battle adds its card to your deck; using it again levels the card up, shown by a liquid meter that turns from blue to gold.
- The leader picker is cleaner: pictures and names only.

Islands unlock one at a time, two new maps
- Each section of islands is now a ladder: play Level 1 to unlock Level 2, and so on. The first island of the 2, 3 and 4-team sections is always open.
- New 3-team island: Kāneʻohe Sandbar, three crews around a lagoon with an islet village in the middle.
- New 4-team island: Halemaʻumaʻu Rim, four crews and a crater village reached through four passes.
- Easier battles: more starting musubi (120, 150 or 160 by team count) and every monster costs you 1 musubi less than the computer.

Fog of war remembers
- Ground you have explored stays uncovered, and your monsters see one tile further.
October 13, 2026
Musubi War comes to the web
- The game launched at musubiwar.com: free to play in any browser on phones, tablets and computers.
- A new opening story, told in Pidgin, shows how the monstahs found musubi.
- This About & How to Play page, and a layout made for big screens.
